Traditional ring-spun twists merino tight, choking the fibre’s natural loft. Nuyarn® drafts merino around a high-performance filament and stabilises it without twist. Think of it as a ladder of fibres with air trapped between the rungs: more volume and aeration, better moisture-transport, and a yarn that resists torque (no tee twisting out of shape).

5X faster dying
Nuyarn® Merino stands apart with its ability to absorb moisture at the vapour stage—well before it condenses into liquid, and earlier than synthetic materials can react. Moisture and perspiration are efficiently pulled away from the skin and absorbed into the fabric’s core. Thanks to the enhanced airflow within the Nuyarn® Merino structure, the drying process begins even before the moisture reaches the surface of the fabric.
35% more thermal retention
The fibres’ increased volume and natural air pockets act as an effective thermal insulator. This, combined with the increased loft and thermoregulation, results in lighter weight garments that perform better than traditionally spun merino.
8.8x more durable
Nuyarn® Merino’s unique structure makes it significantly more durable than traditional spinning technology. In the industry standard Martindale abrasion test, Nuyarn® Merino endured an astonishing 123,333 rubs before showing any signs of breakdown, whereas traditionally spun merino typically lasts around 14,000 to 18,000 rubs before a hole appears.

The twist-free spinning process creates more loft and aeration within the wool fibres. In nature, this results in natural thermoregulation, breathability, air resistance, and the ability to absorb and manage water vapour.

Nuyarn® fabric recorded 123,333 rubs before first wear; ring/core-spun samples failed at 24–28k rubs. That’s why your base layer looks crisp after a season, not shagged after a few trips.
